Cryotherapy? What is it, and how does it work?

Cryotherapy is nothing more than using ice to treat: bruises, swelling (inflammation), and everyday pain. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, a branch of the National Health Institute, Cryotherapy is effective in pain management. By applying low temperatures to local specific sites on the body, Cryotherapy reduces the blood flow, and in turn reduces pain. The NCBI recommends that there needs to be more specificity in how clinics use Cryotherapy in treating pain. That’s why we here at New Millenium Medical have a systematic outline of how often and how much Crytotherapy should be used because we believe in using research based treatments that work! Stop on in and ask us how Cryotherapy might be beneficial to you!
